Like we have crossed over a boundary or passed through an event horizon?

Last year, as the holidays approached, I noticed that the usual tempering of peoples' moods was not happening - if anything, folks seemed more distant, pale and unemotional. There was none of the standard infusion of temporary cheerfulness. It was as if the world had just stopped at a specific moment and spun there for a few weeks.

Then, in a flash, it was like the time-track was trying to catch back up and events, and the anticipation of events, rose ominously up through the spring.

Given that normal is hard to define, all seemed unspectacular normal until sometime on Thanksgiving night/Friday morning.

Then, I would swear I heard an audible click of a switch.

Something has changed...And not for the best.

Went to an auction today. Sad to see the experiences and pieces of a man's life can be reduced to boxes of dishes and collectibles sorted out on plywood tables.

But that is not the subject of this post...consider it a freebie.

Auctions are good for people-watching. You see a whole variety fom those who are buying with an eye to profit-taking to those trying to stretch a limited budget.

You also see the manifestation of all the worst in people.

Some, who, perhaps at other times would be exceptionally cultured, throw elbows into competitors that would get you tossed in the NBA. People snort and sniff at the deceased precious little curios like they are soured spinach.

Today I saw people trying to hide particularly valuable items amongst piles of trash so as to sneak in a steal - or some didn't bother with trickery: they simply stole the items, with the brazenness of a Soho dealer.

Proof positive that the natural state of man is not an ambivalent temperance tending ever so slightly to the "nice". Part of the cause of his lies at the heart of the movement itself; part of it is, no doubt, encouraged, abetted and injected by its enemies and opponents from without.

The 9/11 Truth Movement is not monolithic.

In reality, it is a much-fractured, barely connected, conglomeration of veterans of the war against tyranny, new converts persuaded by 9/11 itself or the results thereof, and, sadly, professional opportunity who find it profitable to be a big (and loud) fish in a small pond.

The most recent hysteria comes courtesy of Eric Hufschmid and Darryl Bradford Smith.

A short visit to their websites could tell you about these tyrant-wannabes. In fact, their notion of the need for an uber-cleansing of the 9/11 Truth Movement, with them as the quality control inspectors of course, almost makes me feel sympathetic for those who may yet remain loyal to them - rather like one might have pitied the close associates of Howard Hughes.

Fortunately, for even the most distracted listener or reader, however, discerning the real intent of these two is simple: just listen to them. Every conversation, every interview, ends up on one of two notes: They are not getting the recognition and attention they deserve (and, often, not getting the income they should) or, they are the only pure, untainted arbiters of he truth left in the 9/11 Movement.

I believe there is a word which exactly describes them: Hubris.

So, let's give them the attention they deserve - ignore them, marginalize them, let them and their ilk die an ignominious and lonely death. Otherwise they will succeed in distracting the 9/11 Truth Movement from it's purpose, the truth.

I found this place this morning.

I am hoping it brings me more interaction.

Technorati Profile

One of the networks I listen to online has been running an advertisement in which the firm promises to help people end their debt problems.

Now, I'll bet you are thinking that it is another one of the profitable non-profit debt counseling services.

Nope.

This company says they will help because the banks are all crooks and because they are doing very bad (unconstitutional, etc), very bad things, you can, if you buy their system, get your debt erased.

There may be something to the idea of the immoral manipulations banks do - I am pretty sure bankers are all demon-possessed.

But, all-in-all, I have a big problem with this company and this approach.

Because, debt, despite the fiat-money system's inherent evil, is the fault of the debtor, not the creditor.

Yes, I will excuse those who have entered the world of debt involuntarily through illness, etc.

But, beyond doubt, most assumed debt because they wanted to get something that they could not afford to buy otherwise. And that is the real issue.

The debt comes from desire for stuff - to use an old-fashioned word - from coveting.

To try to erase your debt, in any manner short of fulfilling your promise only compounds the evil.

Another reason we cannot serve God and money.

When ambitious folk talk about breaking into the mainstream media (MSM) the phrase "good old boys club" or similar is often heard. The meaning is that talent may or may not be neccesary to success, but the right contacts are essential.

Now I don't spend a lot of time with the MSM. My listening and reading choices include mostly what is labelled alternative media.

And guess what? The same gang mentality exists among the so-called truth-movement shills as is found in the mainstream.

Don't think so? Those nasty demons with candy and ill-intent. The criminals and their horrid designs on our things.

Then I also recall the indoctrination lectures in middle and high school. The authoritarian reciting of the dangers of "pot" and other illegal drugs which would turn us into raving lunatics and how we were to narc on our friends and classmates for their own good and because the police couldn't do their job without our help.

Uh oh, there was the first crack, the police weren't omnipotent.

I also recall the notion beginning to build that the police were not the last blue bulwark of defense against the evils of the world.

More cracks appeared. The film of police clubbing people and loosing dogs on citizens trying to claim their natural rights.

Stories from friends about hassles from police for minor infractions, innocuous exchanges, poor hygene, the wrong vehicle.

Stories on the tube, in the paper, through the radio about corruption, rogues, criminals in uniform.

Then there were the chance encounters of my own: some brought on by my own behavior, some inexplicable in both the need for and the purpose of.

Lately, however, there is little left of the image I began with those years past when I listened and observed the policeman with a mix of awe and the desire of a child to please authority figures.

I wish I could blame the demolition of the icon on my own failings, that I, being a rebellious sort, don't see police as allies because I have chosen the other side.

Not true.

Borrowing from Ronald Reagan, I didn't change sides, the police did.

Just a short search of the internet sites of local papers will show an increasing spate of physical abuse, misuse of authority, fatal errors, intimidation, police machines running roughshod over the people.

Only a couple of days ago, an internationally known journalist, with a conscience and a sense of the honorable, Christopher Bollyn, was stalked, assaulted, beaten while his family was forced to watch, illegally arrested and detained, extorted for bail, falsely charged and then booted out onto the street in the middle of the night.

Elderly women are tasered, and killed, because they don't move fast enough to suit the agent accosting her.

Restrained suspects are shocked because they refuse to provide a urine sample without a warrant.

If these were isolated, they would call for closer oversight and action; but, because they are merely exemplars of dozens more abuses, large and small, inconveniences and fatalities, what is called for is a change.

Given that the governors of our nation, states, and localities appear to be encouraging and defending their enforcers, even recruiting among the returning military for more efficient and powerful agents, the change must be made by the people.

It starts with this: The police are not our friends. Their loyalty is not to us, their loyalty is to the government.

The police are taught that we are not their employers, but their enemies. Remember this always.

In all circumstances, when dealing with police, the citizen must presume that the police will pursue the interests of the government even if the interests conflict with your Constitutional rights.

Be prepared.

Carry a camera. Be aware of the mood and perceived intent. Do your best not to be alone.

We do not have to be their enemies, but we do not have to be their entertainment either.

Most of all, don't be afraid. Fear feeds the beast.
